He asked these three questions.

He, announced reward to
anyone who could answer his questions correctly and when he was not convinced
by any of those answers, he decided to consult a hermit who lived in the

3. Was he satisfied with the answers he received? Why/ Why not?
No, he was not satisfied because
they all answered his questions differently and and he was not able to come to
any conclusion.

The King finally, in a simple clothes, approached to an old hermit who was living in the forest.

Rather than getting the answers of his questions from the hermit, the King actually experienced his own answers when faced by different situations. In different situation he acted differently with different persons.

(EVERYONE MUST ATTEMPT HIS/HER OWN ANSWERS)
4. What opinion have you formed about the bearded man, the King's
enemy?
The bearded man, although represented here as King's enemy, is infact a good person. He wanted to revenge his brother's killing by killing the King. I do not think anything is wrong in that. Anyone would do the same for loss of the loved ones. But his greatness lies in his ability to understand the kindness of the King and his willingness to serve the King, who has saved him from dying.
D. DISCUSS IN THE CLASS.
1. Based on this story, what do you think is the important of
empathy and compassion in one's life?
After reading this story I understand the importance of empathy and compassion in our life. They can melt hatred into love and harmony; revenge into friendship. The old bearded man, filled with avenging his brother's killing, had come to kill the King. The same man, ultimately we find, is willing to serve the King, because he has experienced the empathy and compassion of the King. Such is their power.
2. Do you think that the present is the most important time? Why/
Why not?
The present time is the most important time because only in the present time we can do and act upon something to effect the future. Our present performance can change everything in the future.
