Kip was suffering from acute gallbladder infection and had almost collapsed while running 10000 metres. Yet determined to finish the race anyway, he managed to complete the remaining three laps.

Kip was determined to finish the race anyway. Such was his dedication, commitment and passion for the running race.

2. Describe what Kip went through before the 1500 metres race. How did Kip fare in it?

On the day of 1500 metre final, Kip, because of his ailment slept longer and had to rush to the Olympic stadium. When faced by the traffic he got off the bus and participated in the Olympics and defeated Jim Ryun in the 1500 metres by a huge margin. For three year Jim Ryun had not been defeated by anyone besides he was completely fresh when Kim was unwell too.

3. Say how Kip displayed extreme grit and determination at the Mexico City Olympic Games.

Kip was suffering from acute gallbladder infection during the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. He had almost collapsed while running the 10000 metres. Yet he stumbled back onto the track and despite the pain managed to complete the remaining three laps. Such was his dedication, commitment and passion.

People respect and admire him for the following reason…

c. Although now a successful person he has come down to help and care the street children and built an orphanage, the Kip Keino Children’s Home.

d. He is still expanding and now they have founded Kip Keino School in 2000.
