B. ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS.

1. Why had all the athletes gathered there?

They had all there to run for the gold, for the silver and bronze.

2. What was the race to be run?

It was ‘The hundred yard dash’.

3. What happened to the smallest runner?

He stumbled and staggered.

4. What did the other runners do?

They went back to help him and brought the young boy to his feet.

5. In what sense was the banner apt?

In ‘Special Olympic’ the banner was apt.

C. THINK AND ANSWER.

And a banner above that said (Special Olympics) could not have been more on the mark. Why do you think the poet says this?

It was no more an Olympics, where everyone was targeting a championship. It became a concern for the fallen one and support for each other. They all decided to reach the final line together along with the fallen one. Hence all nine were the equal at the end.
